Direct Payments
Direct payments are a way of letting the individual has more choice and control over their day to day life through flexible support arrangements.
Instead of the council providing you services, the money is given to you so you can buy the support you need and choose the kind of support that is right for you.
People who get direct payments are usually people who are:
- Over 65 years old
- Disabled between the ages of 16 and 65, including those with mental health issues or a learning disability
- Carers aged 16 and over
- Parents or guardians of disabled children
YAWR has a service level agreement with RMBC and other providers to support individuals who are in receipt of Direct Payments. Our aim to ensure that our clients retain their independence. We work with the client and their family to ensure that all necessary information is shared.
YAWR prides itself on being client centre our project manager matches the staff and clients to ensure a balanced service is provided, that both the client and their family are happy. Communication is key and we are proud that our clients are very happy with their support workers.
To ensure a smooth ongoing service, update meetings are held regularly to ensure that the support delivered is of a high standard and continuity of support is provided.
